京の片泊まり

About "Kyo no Katadomari"

Kyoto had been the capital city of Japan for over a thousand years.

Today, it still amazes travellers with its unique sceneries of traditional wooden houses lined up in the quiet alleys with stone pavements.

In recent years, many of the traditional machiyas (townhouses) have been demolished because many of them had been left unoccupied for so long. We believe that such historic buildings, which have been passing on the wisdom of the previous generations for centuries, have to be preserved for the future generations.

At Kyo no Katadomari, we’ve given machiyas new lives as holiday homes. They are ready to welcome tourists from all over the world.

Enjoy the warmth of the wooden furniture, the simple but functional layout, and the aesthetic of the courtyard and the alcove.

Don't just dream about Kyoto. Come stay at our machiyas to experience the life in Kyoto and the beauty that surrounds you.

Unforgettable!

京都の雰囲気を感じられる素敵な町屋です。小さなキッチンもあって、

必要なものが全部揃ってあるのでとても便利です。

抹茶セットもあったのがとても京都らしいと思いました。

お風呂から庭が見えるのが好きでした。

Stayed here during our Kyoto trip this July. Great place to feel the traditional atmosphere of Kyoto.

I loved all the little details, antique furniture and, of course, the garden!

Also enjoyed making matcha tea with a special set, thoughtfully prepared in the kitchen.  Unforgettable experience!

Comfortable!

It was a very beautiful and easy-to-use inn. More relaxing than a hotel

I was able to heal the tiredness of the trip. Amenities and the kitchen equipment were perfect. I also enjoyed the Goemon bath.

I would definitely like to stay here again.
